i used to have a palm pre the battery was bad, no Msn, 12 apps on the app store, the keyboard suxs its 2 small. But i loved the multitasking :)Palm Pre - Amazing phone!
You got the phone at launch what did you expect? There are over 1000 applications now even though the development tools were in closed beta. It is now open to all developers as of yesterday so tons of application will be there soon and Palm makes development super easy. Even you could make your own app. Battery life has improved with the 9 OS updates and added host of new features, improvements and IM. It has yahoo, google talk and some others. I have no issues with the keypad as i don't want to carry a brick in my pocket nor do i want to type on glass that takes up half my viewable screen. I can type really fast on that keypad. What phone did you switch too because imo this is the best phone sprint has to offer. This will be the first phoen to have full flash support 10.1.The Iphone took 3 years to get MMS,1 year to get an openApp store and launched with no gps or video recorder. Things are moving rather quicly for the Pre though.
Or you can get one of the newer android devices.Better hardware, better software (with a few quirks, yes) and better app selection.Alternately, if you really want a Pre, wait for Pre plus to come out.

i switched to the bb tour keyboard is amazing
BB phones are in the same category like Windows Mobile....dated. The OS is in need of an update, it lacks wifi, browser not as good, screen is low quality (16 bit 65,000 colors)and worse of all that trackball is a pain. If I had to chose between the pre and a BB I would have gone with the Pre.
The Palm Pre is a truly amazing and under estimated device.. Most people who rant about it either A. Have never owned one and choose to be a fanboy for another platform or B. Have owned the phone during the earliest period right after release and have no idea about the home-brew community support. Give it an honest try, I was once in the same boat and for the past 3 months it is the only device that I carry w me. Now that the Palm is going multi-carrier, it should get its well deserved exposure.
Yes the phone is amazing but Palm is small and does not have the marketing funds to push the device. The phone is truly amazing but sadly most people talk about Android and Iphone. The Android phones can't even play 3D games and the interface isn't as great as WebOS. Can the Iphone multitask like this? Need for speed running in the background while I have Irc, web pages, email and all sorts of things open.
