Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is out! ...

Yup GTA is out on the app store it's $9.99 and it's sweet go get it. You have to search it by Grand Theft Auto not GTA.Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is out! ...
Searching Chinatown works aswell.I hope R* have abbandoned all hope to get some serious prophit after it was delayed and around 80% of the potential buyers have played it already on another system. Also graphics are kinda downgraded I mean look at this!!!What is this!?It looks like a lousy 0.99$ battle city remake.I know the iPhone can do better it can run a FREAKIN 3D GTA 4 clone, poor porting I guessGrand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is out! ...
Nah the graphics look better than that trust me I bought the game it looks better then the DS version its more sharp.
here is a picture i just took so you can see the difference
Yeah guess it does look kinda better than the DS. But the projected buttons in the first shot are so uggghlyThe PSP version must have spoiled me.Im still willing to try it tho when it gets cheaper , gonna be sweet playing all the minigames the way they were originally intended not via analog nub and buttons
Yeah, the AppStore screenshots are obviously from an earlier build. I'd guess that they'll be fixed, but then again, with a quiet release and no fanfare who knows? From what I've read here on GS about R* recently, their workers may simply be too tired to care :PAnyhow, at 9.99 I think it's a fantastic deal. My other games just got put on hold.
best bargin in the app store
Cheaper (and probably better) alternativesPayback, Gangstar
^ How is Payback is it a straight port from the GBA vers?
^ How is Payback is it a straight port from the GBA vers?
Payback sucks, and Gangstar is not a bad game but still GTA:CTW offers more.
I just read a review and it says that the controls are a bit cramped is this true?Pretty tempted by the game, but i've had this problem with the iphone before.Cramped controls and awkwardness, have to say the graphics look pretty wank too

The game looks great for what its trying to do. The bird's eye view works perfectly and don't worry about the controls, they grow on you and you realize that there's really no better way to play the game.If you're going to completely miss out on this game just because you think the graphics aren't good. Besides, any game on the iPhone/iTouch that has better graphics suffer from huge battery drain and make the iPod extremely hot. This game runs beautifully without overheating the device.

The game looks more like this.
Apparently when the game released, the AppStore featured pictures from an earlier version than the final release, and a lot of sites haven't yet corrected their screens. As for the controls, I wouldn't call them optimal, especially if you are easily frustrated by touch screen buttons. I will say that after first purchasing the game I had a hard time with the driving controls and combat. Afer an hour playing I was much better with the driving controls and after 4-5 hours with the game, I can fly around Liberty City like a champ. Combat still feels a tad awkward, though after reading about the other versions of the game it seems the problem is inherent in the game (not that GTA combat was ever particularly precise). The touchscreen minigames feel great. Overall, if you have any interest in this game at all, I'd plunk down the cash and give it a go. Any version you play will be one of the best handheld games you've ever played.
Will be buying the ipod touch today, so can't wait to try this out :)

If not, well, it's definitely not the game I'd want to learn with, but what do you got to lose at this point? The money is spent and the game is fantastic... a real classic no matter what platform you get it for.
It's pretty awesome loving it so far I'm on the wheelman mission
is it fun? some some ported games don't work too well on iphone and itouch.
