I know im new to this site but im hoping to be able to understand this site more what do you guys thinks worth the money ...
Well if you are interested in the community as in people who have root access to their phone, there are a lot of apps that do take advantage of the speed. On paper, the 3gs is much faster. Open gl 2.0 instruction set, faster clocked gpu, arm8 cortex vs arm11. 612mhz with lots more cache for 400mhz 3g. 256 megs of ram vs 128. So yeah on the apps there will be a difference. I have a 3g, but I am waiting for summer. Supposedly a dual core iphone coming out.what do you guys thinks worth the money ...
Considering you still pay the same for monthly plans between the two phones, I wouldn't consider the increased purchase price to be all that significant (isn't it $100 something?) Over the course of a few years you're looking at maybe $2400 versus $2500.
The 3Gs is a lot faster, both for general use and for games and apps. My girlfriend's 3G definitely chugs with basic things like the web browser or even just sliding pages of apps where my old 2G Touch is smooth. The 3Gs is faster than both, and there are a lot of apps out now (and coming out) that take further use of the extra power.
I'd get a 3Gs without a doubt.

With the 3gs you have video recording and more memory. If you like to play with a lot of apps then I recommend the 3gs simply because you don't need to reboot the phone every time you install one. It gets really annoying after a while
Preferably iPhone 3GS since it has superior hardware. Faster processor, more memory and better performing graphics quickly get the upper hand compared to 3G. But also more expensive and I suggest you get it secondhand if possible since Apple will release a fourth generation iPhone june-july this year (strong rumor which most certainly will be accurate).
