No, because it doesn't need itInternet security on ipod touch
Currently nobody is writing malicious stuff for the iphone and ipod touch. I dont think you need internet security for it like you do on a PC. On mine I havent had a problem connecting to the wireless and nothing bad has come of it :)
I've done nessus scans on them, there are no known vulneribilities on them, assuming you have the latest firmware. Do note, if someone on the wifi is running a sniffer (think wireshark), and it's not connected to a website with SSL, then it can read the data sent, though this is true for all operating systems, regardless if an antivirus is present.Though do note, it's so freaking easy to own jailbreaked people's phone. The default password is alpine, nobody ever bothers to change it, and chances are they have installed SSH on it.

doesn that come down to how your data is being transmitted? Going over a VPN is the most secure right?

if you do decide to jailbreak id recommend using firewall ip... its an app you get through cydia. also, always change your root... its easy and if u don't anyone from anywhere can look/place on your phone! oh, and jailbreaking is awesome... you get so much more of your device!!!! not that hard either!
